Jenna Hoschouer Added as an Assistant for Women's Basketball

Hoschouer played at Otterbein and then overseas before starting her college coaching career at Penn State Behrend

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A talented, young coach is joining the John Carroll Women's Basketball coaching staff.

Following the departure of Kelsey Michaels, Head Coach Beth Andrews '15 is adding a promising coach to her squad.

Jenna Hoschouer has been hired as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach.

"I am so excited for Jenna to join the staff. She is bringing in new ideas about on court development and how to maintain and grow a strong team culture," said Andrews. "I coached against Jenna during her career at Otterbein, and I'm happy to have her on my sideline this time around."

Hoschouer is a 2023 Otterbein University graduate, starring for the Cardinals for five seasons. Hoschouer played professionally overseas for the last 3 years, starring for the Cardiff Met Archers Basketball Club in the United Kingdom's Super League Basketball (the highest women's basketball league in the UK). Hoschouer also coached during her time in Wales.

"I'm super excited to join JCU's Women's Basketball coaching staff. Thank you to Coach Andrews and JCU for giving me the opportunity to work for a renowned University and Women's Basketball program," said Hoschouer. "I can't wait to work with and learn from Coach Andrews after having competed against her programs during my career at Otterbein. I'm looking forward to contributing to the competitiveness of John Carroll Women's Basketball."

The Dayton native starred on and off the court for Otterbein across her five seasons. Hoschouer earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors in 2023 and 2021, both Honorable Mention nods. During the protracted 2021 campaign, the point guard led the OAC in assists per game and earned OAC Player of the Week recognition once.

The Sport Management major made the grade in the classroom, too. Hoschouer twice secured Academic All-District recognition from the College Sports Communicators. Hoschouer also earned Academic All-OAC honors three times.

Also during her time at Otterbein, Hoschouer was a work study student. She spent the 2022-23 academic year as an athletics gameday operations intern. She also worked as a guest services intern for Ohio State during her fifth year at Otterbein.

After graduating from Otterbein in 2023, Hoschouer began her professional playing career. She played two seasons for Cardiff Met Archers Basketball Club, scoring 10.1 points per game in 2023-24 and then 8.5 points per game in 2024-25.

Hoschouer held coaching positions during her two years in South Wales while playing. Hoschouer served as an Academy Coach for Cardiff Met Sport, specifically as an assistant coach for the U18 Girls Team. She also worked as a Primary School Basketball Ambassador for Basketball Wales, promoting the sport to kids ages 8-10. She completed her Master's degree in Coaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University this past May.

This past season, Hoschouer served as a full-time assistant coach at Penn State Behrend. The Lions won the AMCC regular season and tournament championships, reaching the NCAA Division III Tournament.
