Ava Ryncarz Crowned as a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American

Ryncarz joins an elite group of JCU Women's Basketball stars

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association created their All-American teams with Ava Ryncarz picking up an accolade.

Ava Ryncarz has been exceptional for the Blue Streaks this year with the accolades continuing for the senior. The star guard/forward has been named to the WBCA All-American Team as an Honorable Mention Selection.

The Aurora native has been a star for JCU this past season, scoring a program-record 97 three-pointers, leading the North Coast Athletic Conference. Ryncarz has been a large part of JCU Women's Basketball for her entire career, earning 2022-23 Honorable Mention All-OAC, 2023-24 Second Team All-OAC, 2024-25 First Team All-OAC, 2025-26 First Team All-NCAC, and 2025-26 First Team All-Region. 

Ryncarz broke three school records this season for the Blue Streaks, showing her strength on the court. The senior broke the single-game made three pointers (10), single-season made three pointers (92), and career three-pointer (256) records. 

Ryncarz was exceptional on both sides of the court, with an impressive 214 defensive rebounds and 32 steals for the year, while contributing a remarkable 459 points this season. Ryncarz topped the team with 7.6 rebounds per game. 

The senior star helped lead the Blue Streaks to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Tournament, putting up impressive numbers along the way. 

Ryncarz is the first member of the WBCA All-American Team for the Blue Streaks since Olivia Nagy and Nicole Heffington in 2022.
