It was 11 minutes that defined the outcome.
Outside of those 11 minutes, one could argue it was an even battle between two teams desperately needing a win.
For host John Carroll, those 11 minutes did all the damage that was needed in a 76-64 victory over Heidelberg Wednesday night at the DeCarlo Varsity Center.

So did the Blue Streaks.
In the first half, the Berg posted 16 points in opening ten minutes, and held as much as a seven-point lead over John Carroll.
However, from the six-minute mark of the first period and including the first five minutes of the second, the 'Berg managed just two field goals.
In the meantime, JCU would outscore the visitors by a 24-7 margin.
John Carroll led by as many as 16 points in the second half before settling on the 12-point final margin.
The Blue Streaks, who have now won their last two games.survived missing 11 of their first 13 shots.
John Carroll (9-7, 4-5 in the OAC) was led by a career-high 27 points from junior Emilee Ritchie (Stow, OH, Stow - Monroe Falls ), which included five treys. Senior Lee Jennings added 23 points.
While the Blue Streak offense was impressive tonight, Carroll's opportunistic defense forced the Berg into committing 17 turnovers.
Jenny Miller, who began the contest with an average of 13.7 points per game, contributed a team-high 19 points for Heidelberg (1-15, 0-9 OAC). It was the sixth consecutive loss for the 'Berg.
