Senior Emily Day has been part of three consecutive season-opening victories by the Blue Streaks
Box Score John Carroll led for the first 34 minutes of the night, and then wound up falling behind.
Apparently the Blue Streaks did not like that turn of events.
Ignited by an
Emilee Ritchie three-pointer, the Streaks used a 16-3 run to power their way to a 60-53 victory over the host Wooster Fighting Scots Tuesday night at Timken Gymnasium.

"That shot was a big boost," said John Carroll head coach Kristie Maravalli. "We were starting to get stagnant on both ends of the floor, and once we lost that lead, we needed a response. It took us a while, but once we got it, we started to find our way again."
Wooster took a 38-36 lead on a Danielle Spinden jumper at the 13:26 mark, but neither team would score for the next two-and-a-half minutes.
Ritchie broke the dry spell with her first and only three-point drain of the contest.
From there, John Carroll would score on five of its next seven trips down the floor to build a commanding 52-41 advantage with 7:13 remaining.
Missy Spahar led all players with an impressive double-double consisting of 25 points and 14 rebounds.
"Missy played fantastic tonight," said Maravalli. "Last year, she fed a lot off of (All-American)
Lee Jennings play. Tonight, she became the focal point. She made a number of shots in the second half of the game which also freed up other players to make big plays for us as well."
Ritchie added 18 points for John Carroll, which has now won its last three season openers.
Wooster held a 55-36 advantage on the glass but turned the ball over 20 times. Karley Walker led the Fighting Scots with 14 points.
