2012 OAC Fall Championship Preview: Women's Soccer Seeking To Take Long Road Back To Title Match

The JCU women's soccer team will band together beginning Monday for what they hope to be another lengthy tournament run
John Carroll will have no choice but to take the long road if it wants to earn a repeat trip to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament championship match.

That is because, in qualifying for a program-record sixth consecutive berth in the league's postseason tourney, the Blue Streaks have landed as the #6 seed in the six-team field. There will be no home matches forthcoming for a team that only had one in making a title match run in 2011.

The sixth-seeded Blue Streaks will take on the #3 seed Capital Crusaders in a rematch of that 2011 OAC title tilt on Monday, October 29, at 2:00 pm. The contest will take place at Bernlohr Stadium on the Capital University campus.

Live stats, as well as audio/video, will be available on the Capital Stetch Internet portal by clicking here.

John Caroll is making its 13th overall appearance in the tournament since the OAC institute a postseason format in 1992. The Blue Streaks are 8-11 all-time in OAC Tournament play, capturing one championship (2001) and reaching the final five times (1992, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2011).

General admission tickets will be $7 for the contest, but a valid OAC student ID guarantees admission free of charge.  Admission is $2 for anyone 18 and under, and tickets for seniors are $5.  For more information on ticket prices and the OAC tournament, visit the league website at www.oac.org
