Box Score The campus of Capital University has traditionally been unkind to the John Carroll women's basketball team, and that trend continued Saturday afternoon as the Crusaders turned an 11-point halftime lead into a 76-54 win.
Playing without starting point guard
Erin Mog, John Carroll committed 28 turnovers and could only connect on 18-of-52 field goals (34.6%) in the game.  Capital converted the Blue Streak miscues into 21 points off turnovers while giving the ball away just eight times.
JCU won the rebounding battle, 45-40, and was excellent from the free throw line (13-of-14), but could not slow down Stacy Timmerman (21 points) or the host Crusaders.
Freshman
Elissa Day scored 11 to lead the Blue & Gold, while
Christie Wade contributed eight.  John Carroll now stands at 5-3 overall, 0-3 in the OAC while Capital improves to 7-2 and 3-0 in league play.
The Blue Streaks will be back in action Monday night, December 17 against Heidelberg at 7:30 p.m.
