John Carroll women's basketball is hoping for another exciting postseason run in 2012
A week ago, the issue of making the field was still in doubt, so the fact that John Carroll begins the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament as the seventh seed is certainly not a source of concern for anyone in the program.
Actually, it has a nice ring of familiarity to it.
In 2011, JCU began the postseason seeded seventh, and worked their way through the bracket to the OAC championship game.
John Carroll begins its 23rd entry into the conference tournament hoping to enjoy similar success as the 22nd. In the opening round, scheduled for Monday, February 20, the Blue Streaks will face the sixth seeded Wilmington College Quakers.
Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
The winner of the John Carroll-Wilmington game will advance to play at third seeded Otterbein University on Tuesday, February 21, at 7:30 p.m.
John Carroll and WIlmington split their regular season series, with each team winning on their home floor by three points.
Thje Blue Streaks are 13-22 all-time in the OAC Tournament since joining the league in 1989-90.
