After a 12th place finish last season, the John Carroll women's track & field squad jumped one spot higher at the 2016 All-Ohio Division III Championships.

Schasia Modrzynski crushed the school record in the 10,000-meter. Her time of 37:05.96 broke the previous JCU mark of 38:44.
A host of Blue Streaks found success at the All-Ohio event, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Five individuals posted top-ten times and the 4x400-meter relay took fourth, breaking the school record. .
In the finals of the 100-meter dash, Emily Jenkins ran a 12.71, edging out two runners by two and three-hundredths of a second.
Martha Bill took seventh in the 10,000-meter run, posting a time of 43:14.06.
Alainna Schmidt improved her preliminaries time by over three seconds, finishing just outside the points at 1:08.62.
JCU put on a show in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, with two runners in the top ten. Sophomore
Erin Kiley was sixth with a 11:47.64 and
Christine Smith was two spots behind at 11:53.89. The 4x400 team of
Ashura Powell,
Joy Nyaanga,
Alyssa Biedron and
Noelle Saluan took fourth at 3:59.26, breaking the program record. In the 4x100, another school record fell, as Jenkins, Powell, Nyaanga and Jessica Swisher crossed the finish line in 49.16.
In Westminster, Pa., some JCU runners competed in the 2016 Westminster Outdoor Track & Field Invitational.
Gina Majczyk ran the 5,000-meter in 21:30.58.
