2020 OAC Winter Championship Preview: Women's Basketball - Tournament Final

| By:
For the second consecutive year, John Carroll has advanced to the championship game of the Ohio Athletic Conference postseason tournament. By virtue of their 64-49 win over Ohio Northern in the semifinal round, the Blue Streaks will take on OAC regular season champion (and crosstown rival) Baldwin Wallace in a match-up of the top two finishers in the regular season.

Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. from Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea, Ohio.

Live Stats and Live Video will be available for this contest.

This will be the third meeting this season between John Carroll and Baldwin Wallace. The two conference powers split the regular season series, each winning on their home court. The Blue Streaks handed Baldwin Wallace its only OAC defeat with a 59-53 win on January 22 in University Heights, but then fell to the Yellow Jackets, 80-77, on February 12 in Berea.

Riley Schill paces the Yellow Jackets this season, tallying 11.6 points per game, while fellow senior Hannah Fecht averages 10.1 per contest.

Sophomore Olivia Nagy leads the Blue Streaks, recording 16.0 points per game, while junior Nicole Heffington contributes 14.9 points per contest.

John Carroll has made 26 OAC tournament appearances, with an overall postseason record of 16-26. The Blue Streaks won their first ever OAC title last season when they defeated Ohio Northern, 61-58, in the title match. This will be just the third time that John Carroll has played in an OAC title game, with the other time coming in 2011 when the #7 seed Blue Streaks were defeated by #1 seed Mount Union, 92-84. John Carroll, riding a five-game winning streak in the conference postseason tournament, will be looking for its first OAC tournament win ever over Baldwin Wallace, after previously being beat five times by the Yellow Jackets in the postseason.

The winner of this contest will earn the Ohio Athletic Conference's automatic bid into the 2020 NCAA III tournament that begins next Friday, March 6.

Tickets for this OAC Basketball Tournament game are as follows:
$8 for adults
$6 for senior citizens (age 62 and older)
$3 for non-OAC students
All OAC students are free with their student ID.
