ATLANTA, Ga. -- The postseason accolades for Nicole Heffington and Olivia Nagy keep rolling in after a memorable 2021 season.

On April 28, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its NCAA Division III Coaches' All-Americans awards. John Carroll guard/forward Heffington was honored as one of the 10 players in the United States placed on the All-American team, and Nagy received WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches' All-American honorable mention for the second time in her career.

The 10-member Coaches' All-American team is comprised of the 10 best players in Division III and selected by a committee of coaches who are WBCA members in Division III.

"We congratulate the 10 members of the 2021 WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches' All-America team for what they have accomplished in this challenging season," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "These young women have worked to elevate their teams and themselves to an elite level of competition. Through their exceptional talents on the basketball court, they have also lifted the women's game."

Heffington was at the helm of the offense for the Blue Streaks during their 2021 season. She led the team in scoring with an average of 17 points per game and contributed 6.5 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game. She shot 53.4% from the field during the season. In March, she surpassed her 1,500 career point mark during her career at John Carroll.

"I am beyond proud of Nicole and Liv, they set high goals for themselves at the beginning of the season and they worked hard and stayed focused, even with all the uncertainty of a full season," said Head Coach Beth Andrews. "They both are great leaders and they feed off each other and make everyone around them play better!"

Nagy received this honor for the 2019-2020 season, as well. Nagy averaged 13.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game during the 2021 season. Nagy was the biggest factor in leading JCU to their Ohio Athletic Conference Championship title. Throughout the OAC Tournament, she notched 56 points, 40 rebounds, 16 blocks, 4 steals, and 4 assists, which earned her OAC Tournament MVP.

"What stands out the most about Nicole and Liv is their humbleness and their refusal to lose, said Andrews. "Both of them are extremely competitive and want to perform their best but it is all for the best interest of the team. Coaching them is exciting and watching them grow together has been very special!"
