Full Results/Brackets

In the open brackets, Jesse Kanatzar and Patrick McGraw notched third-place efforts.

Patrick McGraw tallied bronze at 157 thanks to a pair of nice wins. The Chardon native earned a quick pin in the first minute to move into the semifinals, where he lost via a tech fall. In the third-place match, the veteran notched a 13-1 conquest for the Blue & Gold.

Jesse Kanatzar fired up a big 9-6 decision win to get things started in the 184-pound weight class. The junior followed it up with a 10-2 major decision. He lost to the eventual champ, Jakob Gilfoil of Army Prep, in the semifinals in a 3-1 defeat. But he finished strong with an 11-9 conquest in the third-place bout.

Additionally, Kale Buckiso finished in sixth place thanks to a pair of victories in the consolation rounds.

In the brackets reserved for first-year wrestlers and sophomores, Ty Daugherty tallied second place honors while Steven Shellenberger tabbed sixth place.

Ty Daugherty rolled to a win via pin in 6:49 to open up his day. The Avon native then eked by his next foe, 7-6, to fly into the championship match. The first-year Blue Streak lost by a narrow margin in the bout in a 12-10 decision, barely missing out on the title.

Steven Shellenberger bounced back from an opening loss by tallying two victories in the consolations to get to the fifth-place match. Unfortunately he lost a 13-9 decision in his final match.

The Blue Streaks will be back in action next weekend at the Albion Invitational.
