Journey Ends on Day 1 of the NCAA Championships for Perelka, Reicosky, and McGraw

Luke Reicosky battled hard but lost two matches today.
ROANOKE, Va. — The NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships began today, and John Carroll Wrestling had three wrestlers competing. 

Seniors Andrew Perelka (133 pounds), Patrick McGraw (157 lbs.), and Luke Reicosky (165 lbs.) all wrestled today at the national championships, in Roanoke, Virginia.  

In the first round, Luke Reicosky (165 lbs.) won a close match 5-4, bringing him to the quarterfinals. Andrew Perelka (133 lbs.) lost, 3-0, and Patrick McGraw (157 lbs.) lost, 8-1.

In the first round of the consolation bracket, Andrew Perelka (133 lbs.) won his match by decision, 7-4. Patrick McGraw (157 lbs.) lost his second match 8-6, ending his tournament. 

Luke Reicosky (165 lbs.) had a close match in the quarterfinal round, but ultimately was defeated by decision, 5-2.

During the last round of the day, Andrew Perelka (133 lbs.) lost, 6-2, and Luke Reicosky (165 lbs.) lost, 3-2.  

This marks the end of the season for JCU Wrestling, and they will start working hard to prepare for the next season. Congratulations to Andrew Perelka, Patrick McGraw, and Luke Reicosky for qualifying for the national championships.
