The Watson and Tressel Training site at Youngstown University was the scene for two Blue Streak PR's to start off an exciting weekend. Junior Dominic Delmoro shined for John Carroll in the mile event, finishing first, and posting an official time of 4:17.3 (PR).

Waiting on deck was Tommy Naiman, who would go on to deliver the second Blue Streaks PR of the day in the 800m. At a personal record finish at 1:57.37, the Tallmadge native capped off an impressive evening.

Saturday 1/20

A busy Saturday in Geneva got underway with the men as freshman Nate Julien contributed a PR of his own at 15:13.76, and a first place finish.

In the men's turn to jump, the duo sport freshman Tony Tirado finished the 60m hurdles with a personal best 8.95 finish. The men saw another up and coming freshman PR in the 60m when Joe Witherspoon Jr. clocked in at a personal record 7.44 finish in the third heat.

When the men's name was called for the one mile, they certainly did not disappoint. Caleb Correia ended the first heat with a PR time of 4:16.16 and a third place finish. In heat number two, a pair of Blue Streaks hit personal bests, and finished in first and second place. Mike Hvizdos won the heat (4:19.23 PR), and sophomore Ian Paul finished just milliseconds behind in second place (4:19.89 PR).

Tyler Gast continued the men's hot streak with a second place finish in the 400m dash with a 49.32 time, also a PR.

Moments later, the men had three top ten finishers in the 60m Finals. Garrett Clark finished in second followed by Jimmy Kartsonas in third, and Basheer Alramahi in sixth.

Perhaps the highlight of the day then occurred late in the afternoon as sophomore Ian Paul broke the school record in the men's 600m with a record 1:22.67 timing. Senior Caleb Correia previously owned this school record for JCU.

The men capped off the day with another first and second place finish. In the 200m dash, sophomore phenom Basheer Alramahi won the heat with a 21.82 finish, and grad student Garrett Clark finished closely behind and finished in second place with a 21.85 time.

Throws traveled to the Muskie Meet #2 posting heavy marks for the group. In the weight throw, Noah Schroeder thre 15.01, followed by Matthew Russo, who threw a mark of 14.93 to highlight the weekend.

The Blue Streaks look to keep the momentum rolling next weekend on January 26th at Kent State in the Doug Raymond National Qualifier, and at State College in the Penn State National Open.
