Kanatzar became JCU's 13th wrestler to win 100 matches in front of a great home crowd

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- In John Carroll's last home dual meet of the season, and final home meet for JCU seniors, the Blue Streaks showed up and showed out for Senior Night against Wilmington.

The Blue Streaks rolled to a 56-0 victory over the Quakers in the final Ohio Athletic Conference dual for JCU Wrestling.

Results

Brett Stanley had a dominant start to the night, as he was able to secure the win after a quick three minutes at 125 via a 20-2 tech fall. Alex Crane followed up Stanley's performance with a dominant win of his own, leading 11-0 after the first period.  He finished the fight early into the second via pin, after holding over three minutes of riding time.

Ty Daugherty secured a takedown late in the first period to take a 3-0 lead at 141. A quick takedown to start the second gave him control, and he was able to finish the fight with around 30 seconds left in the second period with a pin.

Kyle Bizjak delivered another pin for the Blue Streaks, as Bizjak was able to finish the fight in under two minutes. Ryan Forrest held a tight 5-2 lead after the first period. The senior was able to extend his lead after two, up 8-3, and completed a gritty win in full time, 16-5.

Daniel Devera possessed a 3-1 lead after one period at 165, but in stunning fashion, the veteran pinned his opponent just 12 seconds into the second period. Niko Kalamaras put on a show in the first period with a huge body slam to take a 3-0 lead, and not even halfway through the period, he racked up another pin for the Blue Streaks.

In yet another quick win for the Blue Streaks in the first period, Horgan shut out his opponent in just over half of the first period in a dominant 23-4 tech fall. After a forfeit win at 197, the main event of the night.

Last but certainly not least, Jesse Kanatzar did battle in a weight class higher than normal, and looking for his 100th career win in his final home meet, finished off what was an electric Senior Night with, how fitting, another pin for the Blue Streaks.

Kanatzar had this to say after his record setting victory, "It feels great, I'm just super grateful.  I originally wasn't supposed to have a match, but I just really wanted to earn this win at home.  I'm blessed to have been able to stay healthy for 4 years and compete."

It was a huge win for the Blue Streaks, as they finished the shutout and a clean sweep of the Quakers, 56-0.
