Baseball Picked to Finish Fifth in NCAC Preseason Poll

| By:

The Blue Streaks will look to finish in the top four to earn a berth to the NCAC tourney

CLEVELAND – Before the John Carroll Baseball program takes the field in their first season in the North Coast Athletic Conference, the conference's preseason coaches' poll has them ranked fifth out of nine.

The Blue Streaks received no first place votes, and finished with 50 total points. Denison received seven of nine total first place votes and 79 total points. Wittenberg finished second with one first-place vote, Wabash followed in third place, and Wooster came in at fourth the final first-place vote.

JCU Baseball will enter their new conference coming off of a 23-17 record in their last season in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

John Carroll ended last season in the OAC Tournament losing back-to-back games after beating a ranked Mount Union squad in their first playoff game in Alliance.

Although the Blue Streaks have lost many of their starters from last season, they have an exciting season ahead, with a young group looking to make a mark on this program.  Led by senior leaders Ethan Glossa, Roger Simon, and Jake Corll, JCU will have a strong returning cast to mentor the younger players on the roster.

John Carroll will hopefully begin their season next week, weather permitting. JCU starts NCAC play on March 28 vs. Wabash at Schweickert Field.
