Ava Ryncarz Stars as D3hoops.com First Team All-Region Honoree

Ryncarz is a repeat selection on the All-Region Team

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – Just a few days removed from the completion of one of the best seasons in program history, John Carroll Women's Basketball can add a name to the legends list.

For just the fifth time in program history, the Blue Streaks have a repeat D3hoops.com All-Region honoree.

Ava Ryncarz has been honored as a First Team D3hoops.com All-Region honoree, just the seventh time a Blue Streak has won first team honors. Ryncarz joins Olivia Nagy, Nicole Heffington, Missy Spahar, and Lee Jennings as a two-time selection. 

Full All-Region Teams

The senior guided John Carroll to a remarkable 2025-26 campaign. Most notably, the Blue Streaks reached the Round of 16 for the first time in program history. The Blue Streaks finished with 26 wins, a program record, as well.

Ryncarz showed out with a team-best 14.8 points per game while leading the team with 7.6 rebounds per game, too. A complete player, Ryncarz added 48 assists and 32 steals. 

A sharpshooter from 3-point range, Ryncarz finished with a new program record of 97 makes from beyond the arc. Ryncarz also concludes her JCU" career with the single-game record for triples (10) and the career mark as well (256).

Looking nationally, Ryncarz finishes the season ranked third in NCAA Division III in 3-pointers this season and fifth in 3-pointers per game (3.13). Her 459 points also stand tops in the conference through the Sectional rounds. 

A First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, Ryncarz is sure to be in line for more honors upcoming, as well. For starters, Ryncarz's first team all-region pick ensures she will be in the conversation for All-American recognition for D3hoops.com, which will be released on March 22.
