Leah Fritsch Named NCAC Women's Field Athlete Of The Week After Record Breaking Performance At Bucknell
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – Another athlete from JCU women's track & field secures NCAC Athlete of the Week honors.

Leah Fritsch wins her first NCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week of her career after posting a magnificent performance in the javelin throw at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University this past weekend.

Her mark of 42.78 meters (140' 4") ranks her at 10th in Division III and first in the North Coast Athletic Conference for the Blue Streaks.

During the preliminary round, Fritsch threw 41.94 meters on her third row, already breaking the school record and solidifying her spot in the final to throw that big mark.

Fritsch placed ninth overall out of 27 competitors, competing against all divisions at the meet.

Leah and the women's track & field program will return for their next competition next Friday-Saturday April 17th-18th for another split squad weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia and the 56th Sparky Adams Invitational at Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio.
