Women's Track & Field Claims 2026 NCAC Outdoor Championship With Total Score Of 190 Points, Highlighted By Nine Individual Champions
GAMBIER, Ohio – History has repeated itself.

After winning the NCAC Indoor Championship this past February, the women's track & field program took that same energy into outdoors.

The Blue Streaks have accomplished the 2026 NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship title with a total score of 190 points, highlighted by nine individual champions.

This group did not trail once throughout the weekend and maintained that lead by relying on their depth, leadership, and most importantly, their culture.

The second day started off on a high note once again. In the women's triple jump, senior Tori Miller earned her second consecutive individual title with a mark of 11.39 meters (37' 4.5"), followed by several of her own teammates who scored for the team.

Sara Gennuso, Aniela Balog, and Ella Gill all placed in the top eight to help boost the team.

Leah Fritsch continued her momentum from yesterday into the pole vault and managed to place fourth overall with a mark of 3.38 meters.

Another senior who contributed on the field was Sarah Hart. She earned her first All-NCAC accolade in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 46.78 meters.

That momentum continued to move along in the track events. The women's 4x100 meter relay of Kaleigh McNamara, Dakota Houston, Paige Munchick, and Sandra King were victorious with a time of 47.02 seconds to break the conference record in the event.

Abby Schroff rose to the occasion once again. Her time of 4:37.46 got her the win in the women's 1500 meter run, claiming her second individual title of the weekend.

Schroff was also named the 2026 NCAC Distance Athlete of the Meet for her performances in both the 10k and 1500 meter runs.

Alyssa Vis also earned All-NCAC honors in the 1500 with a time of 4:39.76, followed by Kelsey Sheridan (4:47.13) and Kylie Bennington (4:47.96) who placed in the top eight to score for the Blue Streaks.

In the 400 meter dash, Sandra King earned the victory with a time of 56.82 seconds, just .02 away from tying her own school record to pick up 10 points.

The wins kept on coming for the Blue Streaks as Dakota Houston earned two key victories in the 100 (11.75) and 200 meter dash (24.22).

Houston was named the 2026 NCAC Sprinter/Hurdler Athlete of the Meet for her performances throughout the weekend.

To put an exclamation point on the weekend, closing in a 67 second lap, Anne Rea earned her first conference title in the women's 5000 meter run, crossing the finish line with a time of 17:14.21.

Coach Daniel Tutskey and his staff couldn't be more proud of what this group has accomplished not just this weekend, but overall this season.
"This is a remarkable and special group of women," Tutskey emphasized. "They are so determined, so supportive, and uplifting that you can't help, but get emotional around them. I will never forget what they have done for myself and the program."

Coach Tutskey also recounts the moments of some of the athletes winning their individual events throughout the day.

"I will always remember running down the infield towards the finish line during the 400 meter dash watching Sandra win and Paige making a move to finish second behind her and Abby Schroff fighting down the home stretch of the 1500 to win, followed by a third, fifth, and seventh place finish in the event. These women are all my heroes."

These will be the moments that the women's track & field program will remember forever as they have now accomplished another historic feat for themselves.

JCU was also awarded the NCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year for securing the conference title.

The team will now look to prepare for the next few weeks and finish strong going into the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the end of May.
