Field Hockey will host an inaugural home opener on Saturday.

As the Fall Season kicks off, John Carroll Athletics are looking to compete.

Here's what to expect this upcoming weekend.

Field Hockey

This weekend marks the very first home game for the Blue Streaks Field Hockey team! The team has seen a bit of a rocky start over the beginning of the season and is still on the hunt for their first win. The team has scored in every game that they have played, a huge stepping stone for a new program as they establish themselves in the NCAC.

The Blue Streaks will welcome Centre College to Schweickert Field at 12:05 pm on Saturday, September 12.

[Women's & Men's Cross Country]

After bringing home 2nd place last week at the Blue Sudeck Invitational, JCU Cross Country is heading for East Lansing, Michigan. There, they will participate in the Spartan Invite.

The Women's 6k begins at 9:00 am and the Men's 8k begins at 9:30 am on Friday, September 11.

Volleyball

A three-game winning streak carries Blue Streaks Volleyball into their next tournament. Their momentum led to a definitive 3-0 win over Allegheny earlier this week with a strong performance from the entire team. Offensively, the Blue Streaks excelled with a .297 attack percentage.

JCU Volleyball is looking to keep that momentum as they head for the Windy City Invite. JCU plays at 5 pm ET Friday, September 11 against Eastern University. The following day, the team competes against Webster University at 11 am ET and Wentworth Institute of Technology at 1:30 pm ET.

Football

Blue Streaks Football kicked off the season strong with a 17-7 win last weekend. Tyler Green took the field for the first time as a Blue Streaks, recording 153 passing yards. A powerful fourth-quarter touchdown from Cohen Klimak solidified the season-opener win.

JCU is on the road again this weekend, heading for Delaware, OH to face Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, September 12 at 1 pm.

Men's Soccer
After going 0-2 during their trip to Washington, DC, the Blue Streaks Men's Soccer team came out with a victory over Lancaster Bible in their game on Thursday night. The Blue Streaks possessed the ball for most of the game and ended up scoring 6 goals on the night. It was a nice birthday treat for Head Coach Dejan Mladenovic.

The team is looking to keep that momentum going as they welcome Carnegie Mellon University to Don Shula on Saturday, September 12 at 1 pm.

Women's Soccer

After a bumpy start to the season, Blue Streaks Women's Soccer broke through with a win over Marietta at a tournament last weekend. A heavily defensive game from both teams, a goal from Brooke Berkowitz put JCU ahead and sealed the win.

The team seeks to keep the energy high as they travel to Salisbury, MD to face St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, September 12 at 4 pm.

Women's & Men's Tennis

Over the summer, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association named nine JCU student-athletes to the All-Academic Team. There are six athletes from the women's team, including three-time ITA recipients Evelyn Derren and Maddie Kavenagh, and three from the men's team, including two-time ITA recipient Ryan Waugaman.

With a rained-out tournament last weekend, this marks the first outing for the JCU Tennis teams. The Blue Streaks will travel to Holland, Michigan to compete in the Hope College Invitational Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12.

Men's Golf

The John Carroll Men's Golf Team has had an impressive start to their season after breaking a program record for a single-round score in the Ted Barclay Invitational. Senior Wade Boyle claimed Medalist honors for the event as well as being honored as the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.

The Blue Streaks are looking to extend their record- breaking streak as they travel to State College, PA to compete in the Toftrees Invitational on Sunday, September 13- Monday, September 14.

Women's Golf

The Blue Streaks opened the Fall season on a positive note. The Streaks came out victorious in the ONU Kickoff Classic twice in a row. Impressive rounds from Julla Gulla punched her a spot in the top 10. Lauren Roof enjoyed a big weekend where she tied for 17th.

The Streaks travel to Ohio Northern University once again this weekend, as they compete in the Jimmy Hanlin Invitational on Sunday, September 13 - Monday, September 14.
