Riley Knapp Garners First Career OAC Athlete of the Week Award

Knapp's statline in the season opener was quite impressive

WESTERVILLE — The Ohio Athletic Conference awarded its first defensive athlete of the week in Women's Lacrosse to a Blue Streak.

Riley Knapp is an OAC Athlete of the Week after an impressive effort in the season opener on Saturday.

The former Second Team All-OAC honoree receives this honor for the first time in her career for her role in a dominant 16-9 victory over Grove City this weekend.

The sophomore started her big day with an unassisted goal in the fifth minute to even the game at two. The Cazenovia, New York native was a force to be reckoned with in the midfield all game long, racking up a game-high six ground balls, five caused turnovers and eight draw controls.

Her efforts allowed the Blue Streaks to cruise to their first season-opening victory since 2022. And against the defending Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Champions, no less.

Knapp and the Women's Lacrosse team look to continue their ealy winning ways as they take on Ohio Wesleyan at Don Shula Stadium on Wednesday at 7 pm.
