Kilfoyle was the first Blue Streak quarterback to throw for 2,000 yards in a career. In 1949, he became the first JCU quarterback to throw for over 1,000 yards in a single season.
Kilfoyle played at quarterback for JCU in 14-13 victory over Canisius in the 1948 Great Lakes Bowl, John Carroll's first ever bowl game.
