Russ Sherman was a 6'3", 230 pound two-way player for the Blue Streaks from 1951-1953.
In 1952, he was the leader of the defensive unit which ranked seventh nationally among small colleges and produced four shutouts. Sherman was also named team captain during the 1953 season.
After graduation, Sherman practiced law in Elyria, OH for over 40 years.
In 1995, Sherman was named to the "Transition Era" team (1946-1970) as a linebacker as part of the 75th anniversary of JCU football.
He passed away in 2001 at the age of 69.
