Hall of Fame
Eric Richmond, from the class of 2002, was a highly decorated student-athlete from the John Carroll men's swimming & diving program in the early 2000's. An NCAA Division III national qualifier in 2002, Richmond would earn honorable mention All-America status in the 400 individual medley (12th), 200 individual medley (15th) and 200 breast (15th) at the national championship meet.
Richmond was a 20-time OAC champion, was runner-up in four other championship races, and was the OAC men's Swimmer of the Year twice (2000 and 2002). He won the 400 IM all four years, the 200 IM in 1999, 2000 and 2002, and the 200 Breast in 2000, 2001 and 2002. He still holds the OAC record in 400 IM (one of oldest records in the league), and his ten OAC individual titles is the most by a Blue Streak male in program history (the two times he didn't win in an individual race, he finished as the runner-up).
In his four seasons, Richmond helped lead John Carroll to three OAC titles (2000, 2001 and 2002). He has one school record -- the 400 IM -- that still stands at the time of his induction.
Also an outstanding student, Richmond was Academic All-OAC in 2001 and 2002 and CoSIDA Academic All-District second team in 2002.
