Tony Szczesiul anchored John Carroll in net to a Presidents Athletic Conference championship in 1984 and a runner-up PAC finish in 1982.
The goalkeeper is one of three Blue Streaks to be a four-time first-team All-PAC soccer player. In 1982 as a freshman, Szczesiul guided John Carroll to a 7-4-2 mark with a 4-0-2 mark in PAC play and a runner-up finish. As a sophomore in 1983, Szczesiul allowed just 12 goals, helping John Carroll tab an 8-5 record.
During his junior year, Szczesiul and the Blue Streaks captured the program’s second PAC title with a 12-3-1 overall record, 4-1 in PAC play. With Szczesiul in net, John Carroll defeated Notre Dame, 3-2, to end the 1984 season.
Szczesiul was named PAC Co-MVP in 1984, and he also garnered All-Mideast and All-Ohio honors following his junior and senior campaigns in 1984 and 1985 respectively. He ended his career with a 33-19-5 record. In 2015, Szczesiul was named to the Presidents Athletic Conference 60th Anniversary Team.
