Craig Recko, who held seven school baseball records at the time he graduated, including most career runs, hits, home runs and RBI. A two-time honorable mention All-Region choice , Recko was an All-OAC selection four times, including 2nd team in 1998, 1999 and 2001. The 2001 Herb Eisele Scholar-Athlete Award winner (top male GPA among athletes in the graduation class), Recko earned first team Academic All-OAC three times and Academic All-District three times -- including first team as a junior and senior, and Recko also received the Clyde Lamb Award (the highest league honor a student-athlete who competes in the Ohio Athletic Conference can receive).

Recko played on the JCU baseball team that had the highest OAC finish in program history in 1998, tying for second and reaching the OAC Tournament championship game. The 25 wins in 1998 was also school record. As a s senior, the Blue Streaks topped 20 wins and tied for 2nd place in the OAC. A four-year letterwinner and starter, he was the Cheyfitz-Wright Rookie of the Year Award recipient in 1998.

In his freshman year, Recko also represented the 1997 NCAA Division III John Carroll football team as a letterwinning quarterback.
