Tom Rini, is the other football player to be inducted alongside Cochran. After transferring from Villanova University, Rini started in his three seasons with the Blue Streaks – a run where they compiled a 23-7 record. He was a unanimous All-American selection in 1999 and was asked to play in the American Football Coaches Association Division III All-Star team against a team from Mexico by virtue of being named to their All-American team.
Anchoring the JCU defense from his safety position, Rini earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors each season (first team in both 1998 and 1999). In his senior year, he was the recipient of the Lee J. Tressel Award as the conference's most outstanding defensive back.
Rini was also a team captain in 1999.
