Hall of Fame
Palumbo was a pioneer in the sport of Women’s Tennis at John Carroll, helping jump start a program that has since won seven titles and picked up four runner-up finishes in 19 years of conference championship competition.
Prior to conference play (women’s tennis did not compete for a league title until the fall of 1985), Palumbo captured Greater Cleveland College titles at #1 doubles twice and #1 singles once. In 1986 as a senior, Palumbo went undefeated during the regular season conference schedule, then won the #1 singles and #1 doubles titles (with fellow Hall of Famer Liz Hanna). A #1 singles and doubles player throughout her career, Palumbo was team captain and MVP as a senior and finished her career with a 53-28 record.
