Koenig was a three-year starter at tight end for the Blue Streaks, playing on both the 1962 and 1963 undefeated teams. A team captain as a senior, he led the team in receiving yards both his junior and senior years.Â
Koenig was a three-time All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference selection. He also earned Associated Press Small College All-America honors following his senior year along with All-Catholic and All-American honors.
