Melzer was the 1989 PAC Champion for the 1500-, 3000-, and 5000-meter runs.Â
She also was All-OAC for cross country in 1989 and 1990.Â
In 1991, she captured the OAC indoor title for the 1500m and the outdoor title in the 10,000m run. Melzer still holds JCU records for the 1000, 1500, 1600, 3200m runs and outdoor title in records in the 1500 and 5000m run. She set all these records in her final year of competition.
