The first wrestler to ever win 100 matches in a career at John Carroll, Tom Bennett will long be remembered for that prestigious honor.  He finished his career in 1987 with 111 victories in four seasons, and also holds the school record with 151 matches wrestled. 

He was a three-time All-American in three different weight classes, placing sixth at 134 pounds in 1984, third at 142 pounds in 1985, and sixth at 150 pounds in 1987.  In his senior season he won four regular tournaments and compiled a 31-7 record. 

The three-time co captain of the Blue Streaks received the Coaches Award as a senior.  He was also a two-time Presidents' Athletic Conference Champion and won a minimum of 21 matches each year.
