Nose guard Matt Warnement earned his place in the John Carroll Athletic Hall of Fame with an outstanding career in which he amassed 184 tackles and played in 39 out of a possible 40 games.

Warnement was a third team All-American and first team All-OAC selection during the 1994 season – a year that culminated with the Blue Streaks captured a share of the conference championship. He also was a two-time OAC Defensive Player of the Week during his career.

A four-year letter winner, Warnement played on teams that won 23 of a possible 30 games in his three seasons as a starter. John Carroll was nationally ranked in total defense (8th), rushing defense (4th), and scoring defense (10th) in 1994 as the Blue Streaks finished the season 9-1.
