Hall of Fame
Carrie Scherger, was a three-time NCAA Division III All-American. In 1998, she was sixth nationally in the 200 Freestyle, then finished eighth in the same event in 1999 to earn first team All-America status once again. In her junior campaign, she finished 15th in the 200 Free and earned honorable mention status.
She dominated conference competition, becoming the first (and only) swimmer to earn the conference Swimmer of the Year award all four years. She was a perfect 12-12 in OAC Championships races, never once losing a final. Adding up all the honors, both individually and as a member of relay teams, Scherger captured 22 OAC titles.
At one time, Scherger held four individual conference records. After her senior season, she was the school's female recipient of the Clyde A. Lamb Award, the highest honor a student-athlete can receive from the conference.
