John Ray was the head coach of the John Carroll University Football Team. Between 1959-1963, he achieved three undefeated seasons (with no ties). He also, achieved the Catholic College "Coach of the Year." after the 1962 season. His major contribution to the Blue Streak's football program was his Four NCAA team records that he led them to break in the perfect 1962 season.Â
While coaching John Carroll, he had a 29-6 record and led them to three PAC titles. After John Carroll, Ray went on to coach the Kentucky Wildcats and eventually made his way up to the big leagues where he was a defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.Â
