Ed Floyd was a two year varsity player at tackle and defensive end for the JCU football team.

He was a four-year letter winner  in wrestling as a heavyweight where he carried a career record of 55-24-4. He still held the school record for most career pins with 36  at the time of his induction and he was a two-time PAC champion.
