The 1974-75 wrestling team has been bestowed with the honor of being the first team inducted into the JCU Athletic Hall of Fame, with the first team national title in school history.

At the 1975 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, which were hosted by John Carroll, the Blue Streaks captured the title thanks to four national champions: Mark Hawald, Charles Becks, Brad Bowman and Joe Bertolone.

The Blue Streaks, who were 12-2 in dual meets that season, scored 111 team points to pull away from Montclair State (96), and 1974 national champion Wilkes (92).

Tony DeCarlo, who founded the wrestling program at John Carroll,  was the head coach of the Blue Streaks during their national championship season.
