Genevieve “Genny'' Goergen made an impression as a dynamic player for JCU Women’s Soccer. Goergen helped guide the Blue Streaks to the OAC Tournament Championship game three years in a row. She started in 81 games, which remains the program record as of her induction. She is ranked among the program’s all-time leaders in assists with 12 and goals with 13. In 2013, she was honored as the OAC Midfielder of the Year in addition to First Team All-OAC status after leading JCU to the OAC Regular Season Championship (the program’s first crown since 2002). Also that season, she notably secured the game-winning goal in the second overtime against Ohio Northern in the OAC Tournament Semifinal. Goergen nabbed First Team All-OAC honors as a junior in 2012. Academically, Goergen was the OAC’s nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2013 while earning Academic All-OAC and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. She was also named Academic All-OAC in 2012 and was on the NASCAA All-Academic Team in 2011.
