Brandon Mimes was a three-time All-OAC forward for men’s basketball. He helped John Carroll win the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship in 2004, along with regular season titles in 2004, 2005, and 2007. Mimes anchored the 2004 team that reached the National Semifinals, the furthest a JCU basketball team has reached in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Streaks followed it up with the Sweet 16 appearances in 2004 and 2007. In 2004, Mimes earned Honorable Mention All-OAC status for his efforts in the run to the Final Four. He notched All-OAC First Team status in 2005 and 2007. A three-year starter, Mimes compiled 1,397 career points, along with 743 rebounds, which stood second all-time at the time of his induction. Mimes set the JCU record for most rebounds in a single season with 327 in 2006-07. His 638 points in 2006-07 stood as the second-best single season total in program history upon his graduation.
