Sluga was a multi-sport talent who earned 11 varsity letters while at John Carroll.

As a soccer player, she was an Academic All-American in 1993 and 1994 as well as being named third-team All-Midwest Region selection in 1994.

As a cross country runner, she was a three-time Division III National Scholar Athlete and earned All-Great Lakes Region accolades in 1993 and 1994.

As a track athlete, she was the Jim Wuske Award winner as the OAC Most Outstanding Women’s Track Athlete and won 10 OAC titles in the sport.

Sluga was a 20-time All-OAC honoree in her three different sports, including the rare achievement of being named first team all-conference in soccer and earning first team all-conference in cross country during the same fall sports season twice. She was the recipient of the 1995 Herb-Eisele Scholar-Athlete Award as well as John Carroll’s Clyde A. Lamb Award winner (top scholar-athlete award in the OAC) in 1995..
