A three-time Division III All-American in the sport of wrestling, Eric Urdzik was the national runner-up at 285 pounds in 2002. He was also a three-time OAC Champion wrestler (2000-2002), playing a major role in John Carroll winning league titles in 1999 and 2002. Asa a team, the Blue Streaks placed 5th in nation in 1999, 37th in 2000, 12th in 2001, and 25th in 2002.
Named the Most Valuable Wrestler for John Carroll three times, Urdzik graduated tied for 12th all-time in program history with 86 victories. He was 31-1 as a senior, with his lone loss occuring in the national championship match. He posted records of 9-0 in dual meets as a junior and 17-0 as a senior.
Urdzik was a four-year letterwinner in both football and wrestling. He was Most Valuable Freshman on 1998 football team, and played in 37 of a possible 40 games over the course of his four-year football career.
