Gillmor became John Carroll’s 15th Division III national champion when he captured the NCAA title at 142 pounds in 1992. A three-time letterwinner and national qualifier, Gillmor also earned All-American honors in 1993 when placed third at 150 pound.
In becoming one of just 11 wrestlers at the time of his graduation to amass more than 80 career victories, he tallied 37 of his 85 wins in national championship season – tying him for the second highest single season victory total in program history. Gillmor was a two-time OAC champion (1992 and 1993) who received the Most Falls Award at the 1992 OAC Championships.
His team won OAC titles all three years, and the Blue Streaks placed 5th and 12th nationally in his junior and senior seasons, respectively.
