John Carroll University Athletics

The 1974 and 1976 wrestling teams had some of the greatest success in all of John Carroll athletics history. Outside of the 1975 national wrestling title (the only Division III championship in school history), the 1974 and 1976 wrestling teams have the highest national finishes in the history of the varsity sports programs at JCU.
 
The 1974 season was highlighted with six All-Americans, one national champion, and the distinction of being the national runner-up in the first year an NCAA Division III Championship was conducted.
 
The Blue Streaks improved on their 1974 season the following year by a achieving the NCAA Division III Championship title. This memorable team featured five All-Americans and four national champions.
